The mission of the Texas Peace Officers Memorial is to honor all peace officers who have died in the line of duty in the state of Texas and to give fellow officers the ability to participate in the ceremonies held in honor of the fallen. The form below will provide officers the ability to register their honor guard teams or other officers for listed tasks during the Texas Peace Officers Memorial.

Teams ... 

Color Guard Team – Color Guard Team will march in the procession down 12th Street on Sunday May 2nd, 2021. Show up time at 1200 block Rio Grande Street will be 6:00pm; with a step-off of 7:00pm. Color Guard teams will be entered into a random shuffle to set their placement. Please list the number of Color Guard personnel expected to participate in the memorial procession. Parking location will be sent out to registered teams prior to the event.

Lead Mixed Color Team – Six Color Guard Officers from separate agencies will be selected to compose the Mixed Color Team which will lead the memorial procession on Sunday May 2nd, 2021. Please ensure those who sign up for this duty are proficient in their marching abilities and are able to adapt to marching with a mixed team.

Mixed Rifle Team – Seven Honor Guard Officers from separate agencies will be selected to compose the Mixed Rifle Team. They will render the rifle salute during the combined ceremony on Sunday May 2nd, 2021. Those who wish to participate will need to in Austin by 3:00pm on Sunday May 2nd, 2021 to meet with the team leader at House Park Stadium to practice the rifle volley. Please ensure those who sign up for this duty are proficient in using shotguns with rifle movements and are able to adapt to working with a mixed team.

Buglers – Two buglers will play Taps during the combined ceremony on Sunday May 2nd, 2021 at House Park Stadium. It is imperative that the personnel who sign up for this duty have experience at playing Echo Taps and exhibit great talent in playing in front of large audiences. Those who wish to participate will be asked to demonstrate their skills prior to being selected.

Escort Officers – Uniformed officers will escort the families of the fallen officers from the transport buses to the seating area on Sunday evening before the combined ceremony. Show up will be Sunday May 2nd, 2021 5:30 pm at House Park Stadium 1301 Shoal Creek. Those participating in this assignment must be in their agency’s Honor Guard or Class A uniform.

Combined Pipe and Drum Band – The combined Pipe and Drum band will participate in the combined event on Sunday May 2nd, 2021. They will report to 1200 block Rio Grande Street at 6:00pm to line up and prepare for the processional march to House Park Stadium with step off being around 7:00pm. Mounted Patrol – Mounted Patrol officers will participate in the procession down 12th Street to House Park Stadium on Sunday May 2nd, 2021.
